Michel Reis, Marc Demuth et Paul Wiltgen sont issus de la scène luxembourgeoise mais ils ont chacun complété leurs formations européennes dans des prestigieuses écoles américaines ou lors de longs séjour au contact de la scène new-yorkaise. Leur trio, d’abord actif entre 1998 et 2002, vient de se reformer, plus riche encore des expériences de chacun. Michel Reis a étudié le piano classique et le Jazz au conservatoire du Luxembourg avant de poursuivre sa formation au Berklee College de Boston. On le retrouve auprès de nombreux musiciens dont son mentor le violoniste Didier Lockwood. En 2005, Michel est finaliste et termine quatrième du concours international de jazz de Moscou (piano). Le bassiste Marc Demuth affirme une forte présence de jazzman de la nouvelle génération européenne. Depuis son arrivée à New York en 2001, Paul Wiltgen a acquis une belle réputation en tant que percussionniste de jazz et compositeur accompli. *** The Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen Trio formed in 1998 played in and around Luxembourg for several years. Now reunited, this impressive group of individual talents forms a true collective project, each band member composing music for the Trio and aiming to create a fresh and forward-thinking overall sound. The band’s music is strongly influenced by popular music, the singer/songwriter genre and modern jazz. Michel Reis, the poet at the piano, was awarded 4th place in the First Moscow Competition for Jazz Performs (Piano) and in 2006 he won 2nd prize at the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition. The bassist Marc Demuth is a strong and active presence of the new generation of jazz musicians in Europe. With his regular presence on the New York jazz scene, the drummer Paul Wiltgen has earned acclaim as a musician with a unique balance of aesthetics and passion.
