Le vibraphoniste Pascal Schumacher est l’un des musiciens les plus réputés et sollicités de la scène jazz luxembourgeoise. Ses enregistrements et ses tournées se multiplient tandis que ses réalisations à la tête des ensembles qu’il a constitués ont obtenu les récompenses les plus enviées. L’appétit musical du vibraphoniste est insatiable, et inaltérable est son besoin de se lancer de nouveaux défis, de sonder de nouveaux champs artistiques. Il travaille également pour le cinéma, le théâtre, le ballet et compose pour des big bands comme pour des ensembles de chambre. Saxophoniste français, multi-instrumentiste apprécié, Sylvain Rifflet s’est produit e.a. aux côtés de nombreux jazzmen de renom comme Riccardo Del Fra, Aldo Romano, Kenny Wheeler, Michel Portal, Joey Baron, Hermeto Pascoal, au sein du Mégaoctet d’Andy Emler et de l'Orchestre National de Jazz. En 2008, il reçoit le premier prix de groupe au Concours National de la Défense, et ensemble avec Airelle Besson le Django d'Or 2008 dans la catégorie Nouveau Talent, pour l’album « Rockingchair ».

Luxembourg born vibes player and composer Pascal Schumacher is a musician who is gradually building an international reputation. In 2005, Pascal received the Belgium Jazz Trophy Django d’Or in the category “New Talent”. His innovative blend of elements of modern classical composition, jazz and rock makes for a highly distinctive sound and places the vibes, often seen as something of an archaic instrument, into a thoroughly modern context. Trained as a classical percussionist, already popular in Europe, Schumacher works in a duo with Belgian pianist Jef Neve as well as leading the regular working quartet that appears on his critically acclaimed album “Bang My Can”. His duo with Sylvain Rifflet is a new project both musicians present for the first time with a strong will to pursue it in the future. The French saxophonist, clarinettist and multi-reed player Sylvain Rifflet came to wider public attention with the album Rockingchair fronted by himself and trumpeter Airelle Besson, a critically praised début recording which received the Django d’Or 2008.
